• North American Cannabis Systems Inc. said it will work with Alternet Systems Inc. to launch a payment system for the cannabis market. Legal cannabis sales are expected to hit almost $7 billion this year. Details of how the system would work were not disclosed.
• Elan Financial Services has agreed to provide credit card products and services to members of PrimeWay Federal Credit Union. Elan, a unit of U.S. Bancorp that serves more than 300 credit unions, offers among its services a rewards program and enables payments through mobile wallets.
• Prepaid specialist InComm announced it and MOL Global Inc., a payments-platform provider, launched the PlayStation Network prepaid products to be distributed through 7-Eleven stores in Indonesia.
• Paychex Inc., which offers software as a service for payroll administration, announced its fiscal second-quarter net income increased 6% to $311.1 million on $771.4 million in revenue, up 7%.
• Carrier-billing specialist Boku Inc. has started supporting payments in France on Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Store through the French telecom Orange. This represents the first time carrier billing is available for the Windows Store in France and is available on Windows Phones, Surface tablets, and any PC or laptop running Windows 10.
