CardFlight in Boomtown Distribution Deal and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 7/23/18

  • Payscout announced it purchased Paywire Inc. for an undisclosed amount. Payscout said it will expand Paywire’s education and health-care payments products to its merchants. Paywire’s tools consolidate payment software systems to reduce the scope of compliance and enhance security, Payscout said.
  • Mobile point-of-sale specialist CardFlight Inc. lined up another distribution partner with the announcement Monday that Boomtown, which provides POS support services, will offer CardFlight’s SwipeSimple to the merchant acquirers and independent sales organizations it works with.
  • Bank of America Merrill Lynch has launched a mobile app for users of its prepaid cards for corporate and government employees. The app lets users view balances and transactions, find an ATM, lock and unlock cards, and offers biometric log-in.
  • Netherlands-based online payment company PayU, a subsidiary of Naspers, said it agreed to acquire Israeli payment technology provider Zooz to support its expansion in high-growth markets, Reuters reported.
  • Credit-union processor Co-Op Financial Services announced an expanded relationship with Albuquerque, N.M.-based Nusenda Credit Union that includes signature-debit processing.
  • Sphere Payments LLC, parent company to TrustCommerce and Anovia Payments, named Steve Rizzuto chief executive. Rizzuto previously worked at TransFirst, TSYS, and First Data.
