  • The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case challenging the constitutionality of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The move follows a federal appeals court decision in October that ruled the way the CFPB is funded is unconstitutional because it is not controlled by Congress.
  • Financial marketplace LendingTree launched a Visa credit card in partnership with the fintech lender Upgrade.
  • Esther Crawford, who has been heading up a payments unit at Twitter, has been let go along with much of her product team, according to news reports emerging over the weekend. The move was apparently part of another wave of layoffs at the social-media company.
  • Pagos, which bills itself as a payment-intelligence company, said it raised $34 million in a Series A investment round. Its platform has analyzed more than 1 billion transactions per year, Pagos said.
  • Picklejar, whose app includes payment and crowdfunding functionality for independent filmmakers, launched Picklejar Flix, a platform for filmmakers to promote their work.
  • NFTpay, founded to ease consumer purchases of non-fungible tokens, announced it now accepts stablecoins, specifically USDT and USDC.
