Chase Expands Its Partnership With DoorDash to Include Non-Restaurant Merchants

Chase, the banking arm of JPMorgan Chase & Co., has expanded its relationship with third-party delivery service DoorDash Inc. to non-restaurant merchants.

The deal will enable Chase Sapphire and other eligible Chase cardholders to receive recurring benefits on orders from more than 150,000 grocery, convenience, and non-restaurant stores in the DoorDash network.

Non-restaurant merchants in the DoorDash network include Aldi, CVS, Petco, Sephora, Walgreens, and Ahold Delhaize USA, an omnichannel grocery retail group whose brands include Food Lion and Giant Food. DoorDash launched grocery delivery in 2020.

The expanded partnership will provide Chase cardholders with incentives such as monthly discounts in exchange for shopping at DoorDash’s non-restaurant merchants, according to DoorDash. Chase and DoorDash have partnered for restaurant delivery services since 2020.

“To help consumers continue to discover and save on our wide selection, we are excited to introduce a new benefit specifically for grocery, retail, and more, in addition to current Chase partnership perks that cardmembers will continue to receive,” a DoorDash spokesperson says by email. “Today, DoorDash is becoming the exclusive restaurant and grocery delivery platform partner for Chase consumer branded cards.”

Existing Chase cardholders signing up for the new service through the end of 2027 will receive a complimentary DashPass membership through DoorDash. DashPass is a subscription service that says it provides access to hundreds of local and national restaurants with no delivery fees on orders of $15 or more.

In addition, Chase is offering several rewards specific to individual card products. Cardholders with an active Sapphire Reserve DashPass membership, for example, will receive two promotions of up to $10 off each calendar month at checkout on grocery, convenience, or other non-restaurant orders on DoorDash, as well as other offers.

Cardmembers with an activated Sapphire Preferred DashPass membership will receive one promotion of up to $10 off each calendar month at checkout on one grocery, convenience, or other non-restaurant order on DoorDash, among other perks.

Chase Freedom and Slate cardholders that have an active Freedom or Slate DashPass membership receive one promotion of up to $10 off each quarter at checkout on one grocery, convenience, or other non-restaurant orders on DoorDash, along with additional incentives.

Founded in 2013, DoorDash claims 18 million members, with access to local businesses in more than 30 countries globally.
