Cheq On Deck at Target Field And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 3/14/23

  • Cheq Inc., a mobile and social hospitality payments provider, said it will provide the mobile ordering platform at Target Field, the home stadium of the Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball team. Available via the MLB Ballpark app, the service will enable consumers to order and pickup at select concession stands. This is Cheq’s second deal with an MLB venue, having launched at the Miami Marlins home field, LoanDepotPark.
  • NICE Actimize launched its Money Mule Defense Solution, technology aimed at detecting illicit transfers carried out wittingly or unwittingly by persons recruited by fraudsters.
  • Paybotic, a payments processor specializing in the cannabis industry, said it is working with Regent Bank to open a waitlist for a new program offering checking accounts, payments, and online access to cannabis shops legally serving markets throughout the United States.
  • The buy now, pay later platform Sezzle Inc. said it plans to list its shares on the Nasdaq Global Market. The shares already trade on the Australian Securities Exchange.
  • Wirex said its cryptocurrency-based Visa debit card will be available to customers in Australia through a partnership with Novatti Group Ltd., a card issuer. Wirex claims more than 5 million cardholders globally.
  • Fifty-one percent of consumers in the Entrust “The Future of Identity Report” said they reset a password at least once a month because they can’t remember it. The report canvassed 1,450 consumers in December.
  • Fiserv Inc. announced several executive changes. Jennifer Manchester, formerly co-general counsel, was named chief human resources officer. Katia Karpova, who had been chief financial officer for EMEA, was named head of Fiserv’s EMEA region. John Gibbons, formerly head of the EMEA region, was named co-head of banking. Lastly, Eric Nelson, who had been co-general counsel, was named general counsel.
  • Point of sale payments technology provider Ingenico named Laurent Blanchard president and chief executive. Co-CEOs Gerard Schmid and Rolf Stangl will step down but continue as members of the company’s supervisory board. Blanchard formerly was chief operating officer of cloud-based software firm Cegid.
