Chevron Picks P97 for App Updates and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 9/22/21

  • Chevron Products Co. said it is working with mobile-payments technology provider P97 Networks Inc. to enhance the company’s mobile apps for both Chevron and Texaco customers.
  • Mercator Advisory Group’s “18th Annual U.S. Closed-Loop Prepaid Cards Market Forecast 2020-2025” found that closed-loop prepaid card loads dropped 14% because of the pandemic, but are expected to recover by 2023.
  • Celerant Technology, an e-commerce and retail services provider, said its e-commerce platform now supports Apple Pay.
  • Digital-banking app provider wamo said it has integrated Apple Pay to enable contactless transactions.
  • Payments provider PPRO said it completed an integration of the PayPal Commerce Platform, which will reduce the time for merchants to integrate that platform into their Web sites and give access to the PayPal wallet.
  • Corpay One, a provider of business bill payments and a unit of payment processor Fleetcor, launched a service that allows small businesses to make check and automated clearing house bill payments funded by a credit card.
  • Identity, payment, and data services provider Entrust announced it will acquire Antelop Solutions, which provides card issuing services to financial institutions. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close in the next several weeks, were not disclosed.
  • Bilt Rewards, a loyalty program and cobranded credit card provider for renters, said it raised $60 million with investments from Wells Fargo Co., Mastercard, and a group of real estate owners.
  • Chargebacks911 said Jennifer Lichner joined the dispute-management firm as senior vice president of operations. Most recently, Lichner was head of dispute management operations at Accertify.
  • Mastercard Inc. said Merit Janow will become the non-executive independent chair of its board of directors Jan. 1, following the retirement of Ajay Banga, executive chairman, on Dec. 31. Janow has been a board member since 2014. Banga had been Mastercard’s chief executive for 10 years prior to leaving that role last year.
