- The payments platform Choice Inc. has acquired payments provider Direct Payment Consultants, boosting Choice to more than $3 billion in annual volume on more than 7,000 clients. In a separate transaction, Choice has been acquired by Nexa Equity LLC, a private-equity firm. The terms of the two transactions were not disclosed.
- A startup called Circa, whose mobile technology allows renters to pay rent on a flexible schedule while still paying in full, raised $2 million from investors. Some $15 billion in rent is paid late each month, the company says.
- Cross River Bank said it is partnering with Sardine, a fraud and compliance platform for digital wallets and neobanks, to offer Sardine users immediate access to funds.
- Adyen NV is processing payments for Amazon.com Inc.’s Amazon Japan unit following Amazon’s agreement with the Netherlands-based processor.
- Rewire, a cross-border platform aimed at migrant workers from Asia and Africa, said it is working with Paysafe Ltd.’s Paysafecash platform to allow users to deposit cash into online accounts, which can be used to fund purchases. The service has launched in the United Kingdom and will roll out later to another 16 European countries.
- Payments-technology provider Stripe Inc. launched its Stripe Partner Ecosystem, a network of payments firms recruited to support Stripe users. The program includes Accenture, Amazon Web Services, IBM, Merkle, MuleSoft, ServiceNow, Slalom, Snowflake, Mobiquity, and the ad agency WPP.
- WEX, a payments provider for business-to-business transactions, launched Flume, a digital wallet aimed at what it says are 30 million U.S. businesses now relying on “slow, analog payment methods.” The initial market is businesses with less than $15 million in annual revenue.
- Payments platform NMI appointed Peter Galvin chief marketing officer. Galvin’s more than 20 years of experience includes stints at Entrust and Proofpoint.
