Circle’s Crypto Wallet Boost And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 8/8/23

  • Digital-currency platform Circle Internet Financial has collaborated with Euro Coin to announce Programmable Wallets, aimed at enabling developers to embed crypto wallets in their apps.
  • Payments platform InComm Payments announced it has acquired Zenda, a technology provider for health and benefits administration and provider of platforms for health-savings and flexible-spending accounts. Terms were not announced.
  • Rental-management platform RentRedi announced it has acquired eRentPayment and PaymentReport. Rick Sands, founder of the two acquired companies, will become head of payments for RentRedi. Terms were not announced.
  • One Inc, a payments provider for the insurance industry, announced property and casualty insurance company National Indemnity Co has adopted PremiumPay, One Inc’s inbound digital payment platform.
  • CPI Card Group, a maker of payment cards, reported second-quarter sales of $115 million, up 1% year-over-year as a small drop in debit and credit card sales partially offset strong growth in prepaid debit sales. Price increases also helped lift growth. Net income rose 6% to $6.5 million.
  • Sweden-based Fingerprint Cards AB said it has agreed to provide biometric sensors, software, and algorithms to U.S.-based biometric-lock provider BenjiLock.
  • Mastercard Inc. has gained wider access to merchant acceptance in China through an agreement to allow Mastercard cardholders to link their cards to WeChat Pay, the China-based mobile-payments network.
  • Former PayPal and American Express executive George Hansen has joined payments platform ConnexPay as chief revenue officer.
