Citcon Adds Klarna to Its Mobile Wallet

Citcon USA LLC is partnering with Klarna AB to add Klarna’s payment services to its mobile wallet for in-store and online purchases. The move expands to Citcon merchants Klarna’s Pay in 4 buy now, pay later loans, as well as Klarna Pay in 30 and other Klarna financing products.

Consumers making in-store purchases using the Klarna app will be able to leverage Citcon’s QR Code payment option. Citcon expects its partnership with Klarna will help merchants boost customer loyalty by providing them with more payment options. Citcon also argues merchants can expect higher average tickets. Merchants offering Klarna’s payment option see a 41% increase in average order value, according to Citcon.

“At Citcon, we continue to fuel our customers’ success by making it easy for merchants to offer and accept any form of payment from consumers,” said Wei Jiang, chief executive and president at Citcon. “Integrating Klarna into our payment gateway continues that mission by enabling merchants to quickly adopt alternative payment solutions that their global customers desire and appreciate.”

The addition of Klarna, which features more than 100 different payment methods ranging from local payment options to credit cards, BNPL and cryptocurrency, further expands Citcon’s roster of payment options. These include, PayPal, Venmo, Square Cash, AliPay, WeChat Pay, Kakaopay, Paytm, and Grabpay.

San Jose, Calif.-based Citcon started out in 2015 with technology that allows U.S. merchants in areas favored by Chinese tourists to accept Alipay and WeChat Pay, the two most popular mobile wallets in China. In 2020, it expanded into e-commerce with its launch of plug-ins.
