  • The U.S. Supreme Court ruled a lawsuit challenging the Federal Reserve’s 2011 debit card cap as too high can move forward. The suit, brought in 2021 by a North Dakota truck stop, had been opposed by banks as having been filed too late.
  • Downloads of digital-identity apps will grow 126% worldwide, from 2.3 billion this year to 5.2 billion by 2029, according to a report from Juniper Research.
  • The worldwide self-service kiosk market will grow at a 14.17% compound annual rate over the next four years, to $10.67 billion in revenue in 2028, driven in part by rising adoption of contactless payments, according to a study from Technavio.
  • Cwallet, a cryptocurrency app, launched a feature to allow users to buy gift cards from major brands using digital currency. Supported brands include Apple, Amazon, Spotify, Roblox, Minecraft, Steam US, and EA Games.
