- DoorDash announced a number of new features for its food-delivery app, including the ability to create multiple carts simultaneously and the addition of online payments funded by SNAP/EBT benefits.
- Alphabet Inc.’s mobile-payments app, Google Wallet, will reportedly begin supporting QR codes to trigger payments, starting in Brazil. The wallet has up to now relied solely on near-field communication (NFC) technology, which is rare in some countries, to interact with payment terminals.
- Payments provider Nuvei Corp. announced it will support global acquiring services for Chinese online retailer Geekbuying.
- Exact Payments said it will launch a payfac-as-a-service offering, which it says will enable software-as-a-service businesses to add embedded payments while outsourcing the payment complexity.
- RentRedi, a property-management and rent-payments platform, announced it has added Stripe Identity from payments provider Stripe Inc. to authenticate landlords before setting up accounts to collect rent.
- Transact Campus, a payments processor specializing in college campuses, said it will add campus-counseling services from Talkiatry into its eAccounts app and within the Transact Mobile Credential.
- The Digital Dollar Project released “Secure Adoption of a Digital Dollar–Operational and Compliance Risks for the U.S. Banking Sector,” said to be the first in a series of working papers focused on privacy matters. The DDP is a nonprofit focused on research regarding a U.S. central bank digital currency (CBDC).
- Infor, a provider of business cloud software, and Sertifi, a card-authorization specialist for the hospitality industry, announced a credit card authorization service integrating technology from both companies.
- The companies behind IPSIPay Express, a real-time payments service announced in May, said the company could start generating revenue during the third quarter. IPEX is a joint venture of Innovative Payment Solutions Inc., OpenPath, and eFinityPay.
- PayRange, a provider of payments technology for laundromats, will offer laundromat-management software incorporating payments under an agreement with technology provider Turnsapp Inc.
