Dream Payments Eyes U.S. Merchants and other Digital Transactions News briefs

• Retailer H&M Group said it will encourage its suppliers to pay their workers via mobile money or other digital funds. The initiative is part of the Better Than Cash Alliance, a United Nations-based federation of governments, companies, and organizations fostering digital payments in lieu of cash. Mastercard Inc. and Visa Inc. also participate in the organization.

• Canadian mobile-payments acceptance platform Dream Payments plans to expand operations into the United States with a $10 million Series A round led by FairVentures Inc.

• Inside Secure, a mobile-security specialist, said its host card emulation software platform received functional and security accreditation from Mastercard Inc. and Visa Inc.

• Restaurant chain Papa John’s International Inc. said it now accepts PayPal Holdings Inc. transactions. More than 55% of the Papa John’s U.S. pizza sales are from online orders, the company said.

• Business-to-business money-transfer platform Align Commerce has raised $24 million in a Series B round and given itself a new name, Veem. The funding round was led by National Australia Bank.

• Bluefin Payment Systems LLC announced that payments provider First Atlantic Commerce will offer its merchants Bluefin’s encryption service.

• Hospitality point-of-sale software maker onePOS LLC announced a deal with payments provider Novera Payment Solutions LLC to board U.S. merchants with processor Worldpay.

• POS system reseller System Solutions LLC released software for integrating EMV payments with the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations (Dynamics AX) retail software.

• The Smart Card Alliance has renamed itself the Secure Technology Alliance.
