Elo Adds Tap to Pay Tech And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 3/1/23

  • Felix announced its Terminal Tap to Pay technology has been integrated with the Android-based M50 Mobile Computer from Elo, enabling contactless payments on the Elo device. The move follows Stripe Inc.’s move last week to launch Tap to Pay for Android technology in six countries, including the United States.
  • Payments provider ACI Worldwide Inc. reported fourth-quarter 2022 revenue of $452 million, down from $467 million in the same period in 2021, though total 2022 revenue came to $1.42 billion, up 4%.
  • Point-of-sale system provider PAR Technology Corp. said its 2022 fourth quarter revenue was $97.7 million, a 19.7% increase from $81.6 million in the 2021 fourth quarter. It narrowed its loss to $13.5 million for the quarter from $25.6 million a year ago. Overall, for 2022, PAR posted $355.8 million in revenue, a 25.8% increase from $282.9 million a year ago. The annual loss of $69.3 million was less than the 2021 loss of $75.8 million.
  • Card-issuing platform Marqeta Inc. reported it processed volume of $47 billion in the fourth quarter, up 41% year-over-year, with revenue up 31% to $204 million. For all of 2022, volume totaled $166 billion, up 50% from 2021, with $748 million in revenue, a 45% increase.
  • The Cordish Cos. said Shift4 Payments Inc. will provide payment processing for numerous Cordish dining, retail, and entertainment businesses.
  • Online checkout provider Bolt said Casper Sleep Inc. will use its checkout service.
  • A report from Pushpay, a specialist in payments processing for houses of worship, indicates churches are increasingly adopting online and digital technology, with 89% of 2,200 of decision makers indicating their churches now offer online as well as in-person services.
  • Money transfer provider Wise said it now counts 16 million customers as it launches two products, the Wise Business card and the ability to send money with a link.
  • Payments provider Get Beyond announced new board members Robert J. Leonard, Robert Niehaus, O.B. Rawls, and Mia Shernoff. They join company chief executive and president Mike Peters and founder and former CEO Bob Carr on the board. Peters replaced Carr as CEO last year.
  • Payment facilitator Amaryllis named Menda Sims president. With more than 20 years of experience, Sims has worked at Elavon and FIS and most recently was chief payments officer at Stax.
