ePayPolicy Launches PayablesConnect And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 4/6/23

  • Insurance-industry payments specialist ePayPolicy launched Payables Connect, which it says automates reconciliation, creation, and payment of due payables.
  • Technical-standards provider Global Platform said it will offer a seminar in Brussels April 26 on security for digital wallets offering eID.
  • MSP Recovery Inc., which offers a product called LifeWallet to help providers manage medical claims and payments, announced an upgrade that includes real-time analytics and an improved mobile app.
  • Bob Lee, Square Inc.’s first chief technology officer and considered to have been instrumental 10 years ago in starting Cash App—then known as Square Cash—for the company, was found stabbed to death in San Francisco. Lee left Square in 2014. Square was renamed Block Inc. in December 2021.
  • U.S. retail sales, excluding the automotive sector, rose 4.7% in March compared to March 2022, according to Mastercard Inc.’s latest SpendingPulse report. E-commerce spending was up 13% year-over-year, while in-store volume rose 2.8%.
