TDS Gift Cards wants to make it easier for merchants to use its gift card program while the First National Bank of Omaha is leveraging its issuing prowess to market MGM Rewards in a new credit card.
TDS, a unit of New York City-based Ziff Davis Inc., says it is using services from Card Compliant LLC to offer merchants a gift card issuing program. In the venture with Leawood, Kan.-based Card Compliant, TDS will tap Card Compliant’s Card Issuance and Management Inc. platform to integrate issuing, compliance, and ways to increase the use of gift cards. Uber, Netflix, eBay, and DoorDash are among current TDS gift card clients listed on the TDS Web site.
Some of the benefits, TDS says, are reduced compliance risk—especially with unclaimed property and escheatment regulations—a better customer experience in store and in apps, scalability, better data reporting, and improved efficiency from simplifying many operational elements. Ziff Davis, better known as a magazine and Web-site publisher, acquired TDS in 2024.

In related news, FNBO launched the MGM Rewards Iconic World Elite Mastercard credit card for MGM Resorts.
Cardholders using the credit card at any of more than 20 MGM Resorts properties can receive up to six time points and tier credits for stays at certain MGM locations, an annual $200 resort credit, a statement credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck every four years, and a free night stay, up to $250, annually with $25,000 in card spending.
The card carries a $249 annual fee, though it is distinguished from the MGM Rewards World Elite Mastercard, which has fewer rewards and charges no annual fee. The latter card lacks the resort credit and complimentary night, for example.
