With e-commerce sales accounting for 16.4% of all U.S. retail sales in the fourth quarter, Wildfire Systems Inc. is hoping its new white-label shopping portal will enable more merchants to take advantage of the shopping channel. In related news, retailer Best Buy Canada will use PingPong as its first cross-border payment service provider in its marketplace.
Fintech Wildfire says its new white-label shopping portal is a hosted and fully managed service that enables banks, card issuers, reward services, and technology providers to rapidly launch branded Web sites for desktops and mobile devices. San Diego-based Wildfire says the sites can be standalone versions or complement others.
Wildfire says such sites can offer consumers offers and promotions, which can help strengthen their engagement with a merchant.
Among its features is that it requires no technical expertise. Wildfire says it handles all site development, updates, and optimization efforts. The fully customized service learns how consumers shop using the portal and can tailor personalized offers. It also offers merchants advertising-revenue opportunities by potentially offering ad placements.
Meanwhile, Best Buy Canada’s selection of New York City-based PingPong as the cross-border payment service provider for its marketplace will help it earn additional revenue and improve its cross-border efficiency, PingPong says.
“PingPong’s global network and ecosystem will unlock new revenue streams for us as we look to expand our marketplace to new international sellers,” Sherry Zah, Best Buy Canada vice president of marketplace, says in a statement.
Other clients include Wish and Wayfair, according to PingPong. The company says it supports transactions in more than 100 currencies and operates in more than 200 countries and regions.
