Eye on ISOs: Shift4 Adds to Its Sports Team Portfolio; PayBright Launches a Point-of-Sale Desk

Shift4 Payments Inc. continues to assert its position as a leading processor for sports teams and arenas. The Allentown, Pa.-based company announced Monday it will process ticket sales for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League through a partnership with SeatGeek, the Panthers’ mobile-based ticketing platform provider.

The deal adds to Shift4’s growing roster of clients in sports, which includes Major League Baseball’s Baltimore Orioles, and Major League Soccer’s Real Salt Lake.

During the recently concluded 2022-2023 NHL season, the Panthers were a Stanley Cup finalist for the second time in the team’s history.

“We’re thrilled to team up with the Panthers, who are hot off of their incredible Eastern Conference championship and Stanley Cup Final appearance,” Anthony Perez, senior vice president of New Verticals for Shift4, says in a statement. “Together, we’ll be delivering their fans with an enhanced ticketing experience.”

Shift4 has deals with teams in every major professional sports league, as well as with colleges and entertainment venues. Over the years, the processor has also staked out a major presence in the restaurant industry.

In related news, merchant-services provider PayBright has launched Point-of-Sale Desk, a dedicated point-of-sale system for the company’s more than 650 agents in their payment-processing sales operations.

POS Desk will provide a consistent sales-support process to PayBright’s agents, from demos, pricing, quoting, and setting expectations to communication with the agent rather than a separate POS software company for assistance. By offering hands-on sales support through POS Desk, the company says, agents will be able to focus on securing new business with merchants while the POS Desk can provide support relating to the merchant’s POS needs.

“The … addition of this team will enhance our ability to serve our agent and merchant partners with faster, more efficient service as well as provide comprehensive education [on] our services,” PayBright chief executive and founder Dustin Magaziner says in a statement. “The POS Desk’s technical expertise will allow for agents to focus more on selling payment processing without having to balance the know-how of point-of-sale integrations.”
