Many payments providers are doing what they can to help merchants. Revel Systems Inc. launched a standalone version of its online-ordering tool and Velocity Merchant Services is working with Womply to help businesses navigate the Paycheck Protection Program.
Called Revel Go, the tool from Atlanta-based Revel can be added to any point-of-sale platform, the company says. It is designed to help merchants operate more efficiently in their takeout, curbside, and delivery operations, Revel says. “The restaurant industry was already heading toward a digital-centric model, and the pandemic has greatly accelerated it,” Chris Lybeer, Revel chief strategy officer, said in a statement.
Among the service’s features are the ability to import a menu from existing POS applications with some help from Revel. Also included are capabilities to manage door-to-door delivery services, enable contactless payments, and manage delivery through third-party providers.
In other news, Velocity Merchant says its work with Oto Analytics Inc., which does business as Womply, can help businesses navigate the Paycheck Protection Program, a federal effort to provide loans to help businesses meet payroll. The program’s initial allotment of $349 billion was exhausted last week, but a second round of funding totaling $310 billion may be in the offing.
Downers Grove, Ill.-based Velocity says the deal with Womply includes tapping into Womply’s expertise in already-submitted PPP applications and connecting businesses with authorized lenders in the program. The service is free, Velocity says.
“Our mission here is to assist and reduce the barriers by providing access for all eligible businesses in America to be approved for the loans, placing an emphasis on those in minority and small businesses who were excluded from the first wave of funding,” Velocity says.
