Eye on Networks: FreedomPay Teams Up With Mastercard; Bluefin Partners With Visa

Payments platform FreedomPay has partnered with Mastercard Inc. to provide businesses with a global payment gateway that it says streamlines sellers’ ability to connect with acquirers, enables them to accept a wider range of payment methods, and simplifies cross-border transactions.

The partnership will provide access to more than 230 acquirers through a single integration point to enable global commerce operations, FreedomPay president Chris Kronenthal says by email.

In addition, merchants will have access to business intelligence to create personalized incentives for consumers. They can also deploy PCI-validated security measures to mitigate risk and reduce operating costs.

“The combination of FreedomPay’s innovative technology and Mastercard’s global network creates a single point of integration for global commerce, which reduces complexity and time to market,” Kronenthal says.

In related news, Bluefin Payment Systems LLC has integrated its international payment gateway to Visa Platform Connect, which provides acquirers a direct connection to Visa Inc.’s acceptance platform.

The integration will enable Bluefin to provide acquirers a single international connection to the Visa network and other major card networks for PCI-validated point-to-point encryption processing on Android devices through the NaTALI payment app.

The NaTALI app is a mobile application that allows users to make payments through a platform that relies on PCI-validated point-to-point encryption technology. Bluefin’s has integrated the app into its payment gateway.

The integration will help retailers avoid the cost and complexity of building and managing separate integrations to individual acquirers, Bluefin says.
