Cloud-based point-of-sale systems continue to gain share among merchants. In the latest news, Revel Systems said Moe’s Southwest Grill will install its cloud-based point-of-sale system in its more than 700 restaurants, and NCR Corp. said the Bashas Family of Stores grocery chain is rolling out NCR Emerald at all of its more than 100 stores.
Atlanta-based Revel says the Moe’s Southwest Grill deal is the company’s fourth such agreement with a Focus Brand restaurant chain. Revel POS systems are in use by Focus’s Auntie Anne’s, Cinnabon, and Carvel brands.
Moe’s Southwest Grill will use Revel Enterprise, a version made for larger chains. The chain will use Revel’s application programming interface technology, too, to enable Moe’s to integrate with other providers for cost management. The Moe’s installation will include point-to-point encryption and EMV contactless payment technology.
In related news, Atlanta-based NCR said its NCR Emerald, a cloud-based point-of-sale platform, has begun to go live at regional grocery chain Bashas’ Family of Stores, which plans to roll out the technology to all of its more than 100 stores.
In addition to payment processing services, Chandler, Ariz.-based Bashas’ will used NCR Emerald’s loyalty, promotions, and merchandising services.
