Fiserv Inc.’s Clover unit has made its latest entry in the highly competitive restaurant market with the Clover kitchen display system.
The new system consolidates in-restaurant and online orders, a move some see as a growing need for restaurants as consumers return to dining out, while continuing to place online orders in the post-Covid world. The new system leverages BentoBox’s online ordering and marketing platform. Fiserv acquired BentoBox in late 2021.
The new system helps restaurants increase operating efficiency in the kitchen by providing item-level routing and color-coded order status. In addition, the system provides such analytics as prep time and fulfillment tracking. These metrics help restaurants monitor performance and adjust processes accordingly to meet swings in order volume during peak and non-peak times, Fiserv says.
“With the continued rise of in-person dining and the growing demand for online ordering, it’s never been more critical for restaurants to have seamless systems in place to manage orders,” says Krystle Mobayeni, head of restaurant solutions for Fiserv and founder of BentoBox.
In addition to consolidating in-restaurant and online orders, the Clover kitchen display system is compatible with third-party mounting equipment for wall or shelf mount and has WiFi and LAN connectivity options. The system also features bi-directional speakers that emit alerts at 85 decibels, ensuring clear audibility in loud environments. Fiserv is also touting that the system is heat resistant to 122°F to ensure durability and reliability in kitchen environments.
The news from Fiserv comes on the heels of introductions earlier this week of new restaurant point-of-sale technology from SpotOn Transact LLC, Toast Inc., and Oracle Corp.
