 Fiserv’s Digital Debit Cards And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 4/18/23

  • Fiserv Inc. launched a platform that can issue digital versions of a replacement debit card, enabling immediate use of a card that can be added to a digital wallet.
  • Mobile-messaging provider Clickatell announced what it calls the world’s first chat-commerce platform as a service (CCPaaS). The platform allows customers to pay businesses via messaging platforms they already use, including WhatsApp, Apple Messages, and SMS.
  • Wirex, a payments platform that enables transactions in cryptocurrencies as well as fiat money, launched Wirex Private, aimed at affluent users and including perks such as no membership fees, a dedicated account manager, up to 8% rewards in crypto, as well as travel perks.
  • Vending-payments specialist Cantaloupe Inc. said its Bistro to Go! By Cantaloupe program will be offered to micro markets in a partnership with GlobalConnect, a provider of contactless technology for break rooms and vending and pantry services.
  • Gaming-payments specialist Pavilion Payments added 13 sites where its ACH-based funding capability is available through online banking credentials.
  • SWBC, an international financial-services company, will offer clients access to buy now, pay later services through a digital-banking app in an agreement with BNPL platform equipifi.
  • Payment card manufacturer CPI Card Group Inc. announced it has sold more than 90 million cards made with recycled plastic since the program’s launch in 2019. Some 40 million have been sold in the past year.
