Flywire Adds Discover Acceptance and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 5/6/21

  • Flywire Corp. said users of its education payment service can now use Discover and Diners Club International cards to pay tuition and fees at educational institutions served by Flywire.
  • The chief executives of 21 banks plus Fiserv Inc. and Jack Henry & Associates signed a letter committing their organizations to real-time bill payment capability through The Clearing House Payments Co.’s RTP network.
  • Payments provider Paya Holdings Inc. said it will provide streamlined payments capability for software offered by AccountingSuite.
  • Payments-technology provider dLocal Ltd. filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for its proposed initial public offering.
  • EVO Payments Inc. posted first quarter 2021 revenue of $106.2 million, a 4.5% decrease from $111.2 million for the 2020 first quarter. EVO narrowed its quarterly loss to $2.8 million from $13.6 million.
  • Financial services technology provider Computer Services Inc. reported fourth-quarter revenue of $75.5 million, a 3.9% increase from $72.7 million in the same quarter a year ago. Net income for the quarter of $13.5 million was down 11.2% from $15.2 million last year. For the year, CSI had a profit of $55.4 million on $291.3 million in revenue.
  • Tala, a financial services provider serving the unbanked, said it, Visa Inc., Circle Internet Financial Ltd., and the Stellar Development Foundation will explore ways to make it easier for underbanked consumers to convert, store, and use cryptocurrencies.
  • Unattended and vending payments provider Cantaloupe Inc. said it will work with Bakkt Holdings Inc., a digital asset marketplace, to enable cryptocurrency payments across the Cantaloupe network.

  • POSaBit Systems Corp., provider of a point-of-sale system for the cannabis industry, said total processing volume increased 411% in the fourth quarter of 2020 compared to the year prior quarter.
  • Blockchain provider Ripple Labs Inc. named Rosa Gumataotao Rios to its board of directors and Kristina Campbell chief financial officer. Rios is a former Treasurer of the United States and Campbell is a former Green Dot and PayNearMe executive.
