GasBuddy Hits 2 Million Members And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 3/15/23

  • GasBuddy LLC, a fuel-savings platform, announced its Pay with GasBuddy program has now attracted more than 2 million members since its launch in 2017. The program includes a Pay with GasBuddy card linked to the user’s checking account. Users receive a discount of up to 25 cents per gallon when paying at the pump with the card.
  • Nitra, provider of a spend-management tool for physicians, said it is joining Visa Inc.’s Fintech Fast Track Program, which will give the company access to the VisaNet network.
  • Dynamic Yield, a Mastercard Inc. company that customizes consumers’ digital interactions with businesses, launched Element, a set of Mastercard applications, including prediction models and consumer spending data. The service is aimed at more accurate personalization for clients’ marketing efforts.
  • Discover Financial Services broke ground on a customer care center in Whitehall, Ohio. When completed, the building will serve as one of five such centers in the United States.
  • Payments provider Payarc has added industry veterans Dustin Siner as chief revenue officer and John Buchanan as senior vice president of sales. Siner most recently was CRO for Agile Financial Systems. Buchanan, who also was most recently at AFS, is a veteran of Total System Services (TSYS), now part of Global Payments Inc.
  • Processor Evertec Inc. appointed Alberto López Gaffney executive vice president of corporate development effective March 20. López Gaffney most recently was chief financial officer at Despegar.com, an online travel company.
