Gift Card Provider SVM Buys 1to1 Card and other Digital Transactions News briefs

In-store mobile payments made with wallets enabled with near-field communication will total nearly $240 billion worldwide by 2021 as mobile-wallet competition intensifies and the contactless-payment infrastructure matures, predicts researcher Strategy Analytics.

Closed-loop gift card provider SVM LP acquired 1to1 Card, a prepaid card management-services firm for incentive, loyalty and promotional cards, rebates, pay cards, and general-purpose reloadable cards.

Working with Discover Financial Services, SAP Ariba is expanding its Ariba Pay business-to-business payment service to Canada. Ariba Pay launched in the U.S. in July 2014.

Rosen Hotels and Resorts Inc. disclosed a data breach, originating with malware, that it says affected payment cards used at Rosen properties between Sept. 2, 2014, and Feb. 18, 2016. The number of cards affected was not disclosed.

Security services and technology provider Trustwave Holdings Inc. appointed company veteran Michael Petitti as senior vice president of global alliances.
