Glance Technologies Inc., developer of mobile-payment service Glance Pay, announced a cross-licensing and cobranding agreement with Brewhound Inc., maker of the restaurant and bar locator The Happy Hour App.
The dual integration means consumers using Brewhound’s app in the Vancouver, British Columbia, area can locate venues that accept Glance Pay, while Glance Pay users can view deals and promotions from participating Brewhound merchants in the Glance Pay app. Vancouver-based Glance Pay marked its U.S. debut in March with a launch at 14 locations in California.
Glance Pay enables consumers to pay without waiting in a checkout line or for the server to collect a payment card. In one example, consumers snap a photo of the bill at a participating restaurant. Within the Glance Pay app, she enters the tab and applicable tip amount and then taps “pay.” Payment sources can be a Visa Inc., Mastercard Inc., or American Express Co. card. There is no consumer fee to use the app.
“By combining the Brewhound platform with Glance Pay’s innovative payment solutions, we can offer a powerful tool to help people enjoy those experiences,” Ashiq Ahamed, Brewhound chief executive and cofounder, said in a press release.
In other Glance news, the company appointed Sascha Williams chief operating officer. Williams had been president and COO at a Vancouver-based software developer, and worked at The Walt Disney Co. and Electronic Arts.
