HungerRush, a provider of restaurant-management and online-ordering solutions, has sought to strengthen its hand in the highly competitive restaurant point-of-sale market with the launch of a new order-management application.
Called Order Notifications, the app automates order status by automatically sending customers text updates on the status of delivery and pickup orders. During the testing phase, restaurants using Order Notifications reported significant reductions in order errors during peak periods, the company says.
Sending text updates about the status of the delivery or pick-up orders helps customers plan for when the order will arrive or when they need to pick up an order, which can reduce wait times and congestion in the restaurant’s lobby. Restaurants can send customized text messages to customers about the status of their orders.
“This feature minimizes the frustration of “Where’s my food?” by providing customers with clear, real-time updates on their order status,” the company says by email. “At the same time, it streamlines delivery and pickup operations, enhancing efficiency for restaurants and improving the overall customer experience.”
The app can be integrated with HungerRush’s point-of-sale system, kitchen-display system, and Driver Track app, which sends order and customer-delivery information to delivery drivers. Drivers also receive turn-by-turn navigation to speed delivery time.
In related news, Condado Tacos, a fast-casual restaurant chain, has installed PAR Technology Corp.’s Data Central suite of back-office applications. The addition of Data Central is expected to improve operating efficiencies, especially when managing orders in the kitchen. It also provides analytics based on customer data.
Condado, which operates more than 50 locations throughout the Midwest, according to the company’s Web site, already uses PAR’s Punchh loyalty program.
Data Central uses real-time analytics to track real-time inventory to aid in handling orders and managing staff schedules.
The ability to better manage its inventory is a big benefit for Condado Tacos, the company says, as the chain’s manual inventory tracking couldn’t keep pace with the growing volume of ingredients, leading to increasing food-cost variances. Automating inventory tracking provides Condado Tacos full visibility into operational logistics, which helps reduce these variances, PAR says.
PAR Technology provides point-of-sale, digital ordering, loyalty, back-office management, and payments solutions to hospitality and retail businesses in more than 110 countries.
