InComm Buys Gift Card Impressions and other Digital Transactions News briefs

  • Prepaid card payments provider InComm announced it has acquired Gift Card Impressions, a provider of gift card packaging and solutions. Terms were not announced.
  • Payments processor Adyen announced a direct application programming interface integration with Mastercard Inc.’s Account Updater service.
  • Visa Inc. announced two initiatives to aid financial technology companies in Europe with a fast-track program to speed up fintech onboarding to the Visa network. Visa also announced a $100 million investment program for fintechs in Europe.
  • First Global Money Inc., a unit of First Global Data Ltd., has acquired a money-transmitter license in Utah, representing its 41st state license.
  • Pennsylvania became the seventh state to sell lottery games online with the launch of PA iLottery. The games, which can be played on a tablet, computer, or mobile device, offer winnings up to $250,000. Players must open an account and fund their play with a debit card or linked bank account. Credit cards are not accepted.
  • Marqeta, a provider of a cloud-based payment card issuing platform, has secured $45 million in a new funding round led by ICONIQ Capital. Among Marqeta’s clients are Square, Affirm, Kabbage, and Alipay.
  • Transaction Network Services Inc. appointed telecommunications-industry veteran Bill Versen chief product officer. Versen comes to TNS from Harman International, a Samsung company.
  • Fleetcor Technologies Inc., a technology provider for commercial payments, appointed David Krantz group president of its North America fuel business. Krantz comes to the company from YP Holdings, a vendor of marketing software.
  • Worldpay Inc. appointed Asif Ramji chief product officer. Ramji is president and chief executive of Paymetric, a company Worldpay, then known as Vantiv Inc., acquired in 2017.
