JPMorgan Expands Kinexys and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 4/14/25

  • JPMorgan Chase & Co. has added support for pound-denominated accounts to its Kinexys Digital Payments system, which processes blockchain transactions for commercial accounts, Bloomberg reported. Up to now, accounts have been denominated mostly in dollars. Kinexys was launched in 2019 as JPM Coin.
  • Theya Inc., a Bitcoin self-custody platform, launched Theya for Business, a platform supporting Bitcoin payments and other operations for businesses.
  • Two reports from QKS Group—”Market Share: Merchant Payment Platform, 2024, Worldwide & Regional Report” and “Market Forecast: Merchant Payment Platform, 2025-2030, Worldwide & Regional Report”—indicate transaction volume for processors is set to grow at a compound rate of 15.05% globally through 2030. Firms examined for the studies include Adyen, BlueSnap, Fiserv, Global Payments, PayPal, Stripe, Visa, and Worldpay.
