Kasheesh Launches a One-Time-Use Visa Card to Split In-Store Purchases

Digital-payments platform Kasheesh, which allows consumers to split purchases between debit, credit, and prepaid cards for online purchases, has introduced a one-time-use Visa card to its mobile wallet that can be used at physical stores.

The feature, called Mobile Wallet Dashboard, allows users to add their Kasheesh account to their mobile device. Each time a consumer uses the Kasheesh wallet to make a purchase in-store, the dashboard generates a unique card number that can be used at the point-of-sale.

Users can split the cost of the purchase across credit and debit cards they have stored in the wallet. Providing consumers the ability to split payments across multiple cards enables them to maximize rewards and better manage their finances, Kasheesh says.

“For several years, consumers have been consistently telling us they want the freedom to shop and move money from the palm of their hands,” Pat Flahive, head of product, says in a statement. “With Kasheesh’s first-in-market mobile one-time use card, users can have the convenience of carrying their whole wallet of credit, debit, and gift cards on the go, with the security of not bringing a single card with them.”

Kasheesh could not be reached for more details prior to deadline. But the company clearly expects the new feature to play well with Gen Zers and Millennials. According to Klarna’s 2022 Mobile Shopping Report, 79% of Generation Zers and 77% of Millennials say they are shopping more often with their mobile devices, and in many cases these are their primary methods for making a purchase.

“We couldn’t be more excited to get our ground-breaking technology in the actual hands of users when they need it most, shopping on the go, dealing with unexpected situations on the fly, and sharing their card number in physical locations,” Kasheesh chief executive and co-founder Sam Miller says in a statement.
