  • Vantiv Inc. shareholders approved the processor’s planned acquisition of London-based merchant acquirer Worldpay Group plc with 99.9% of votes cast in favor, Vantiv reported. The companies expect the merger to close Jan. 16 following approval of a British court. The merged company will be known as Worldpay Inc., and its common shares will trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol WP and on the London Stock Exchange under the symbol WPY.
  • ACI Worldwide Inc. announced its UP eCommerce Payments solution has integrated payment services from Klarna in the United States, United Kingdom, and eight other international markets.
  • ISM, a business-services provider, said it has partnered with data-protection solutions provider Datto to help shield businesses from ransomware and other security threats. Ransomware attacks and the average ransom paid both doubled in 2017, with the average time to resolve a ransomware attack stretching to 23 days, ISM said.
  • Computer Services Inc., a payment-card manufacturer, reported a 7.1% drop year-over-year in fiscal third-quarter 2018 net income, to $7.7 million. on $61 million in revenue, up 0.8%.
  • Citing unspecified violations of its operating rules, Visa Inc. has ordered WaveCrest, a provider of prepaid cards to cryptocurrency card firms Bitwala, Cryptopay, Wirex, and TenX, to close its Visa accounts, CNBC reported. The move mainly affects cryptocurrency cards in Europe.
  • On Track Innovations Ltd., a vendor of payment systems based on near-field communication, said it now accepts Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for its products.
  • Mobile-payments provider Bango has launched carrier-billing for Netflix subscriptions in Mexico.
  • Fiserv Inc. said more than 200 financial institutions in the past year have adopted online and mobile customer banking-alert capability through Fiserv’s Notifi service
