Rams Draft Shift4 And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 3/20/24

  • The Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League chose Shift4 Payments Inc. to process ticket sales through Shift4’s Ticketmaster integration.
  • TokenEx, a cloud-based provider of tokenization services to shield personal information in payments, launched a point-to-point encryption service for both online and in-person transactions. The company says the service reduces the scope of compliance with the Payment Card Industry data-security standard by up to 90%.
  • Having launched recently in the United States, Canada-based VoPay International Inc. said it is targeting the European market for its embedded-payments service, starting with a base in London.
  • AffiniPay LLC, an online payment and software provider, said more than $125 million in legal fees have been processed with Pay Later, its buy now, pay later product. More than 54,000 legal professionals have made the payment option available to their clients, AffiniPay said.
  • Bottomline Technologies Inc., a specialist in business payments, said its Expert Legal Bill Review service has been expanded to insurance companies and corporate legal operations. The service was previously restricted to clients using the company’s Legal-X or Legal eXchange platforms.
  • Trustmi Network Ltd. said it has enhanced its Payments Flows anti-fraud platform to detect human errors earlier in the payments process to enable correct payments to correct payees.
  • The proportion of consumers who take and then forget about digital gift cards (39%) is nearly as great as the proportion who do so with physical gift cards (41%). This is according to the Q1 2024 Gift Card Guage, compiled by Fiserv Inc. in February from a survey of more than 1,000 U.S. consumers.
  • Rentec Direct, whose software allows owners to promote properties and accept rent payments online, launched new capabilities enabling landlords to more readily create and edit their own Web sites.
  • The Secure Technology Alliance named Christina Hulka executive director. Hulka most recently was executive director and chief operating officer of the FIDO Alliance. She replaced Jason Bohrer, who joined RightCrowd this year.
