- Lightspeed Commerc Inc. launched Lightspeed Scanner, a service that lets sales associates process customers’ card transactions on an iPhone.
- MagTek said it is working with developer Vault to support Magtek’s DynaFlex II Go technology for mobile point-of-sale applications.
- Identity-verification specialist AU10TIX said its technology prevented an estimated $7.5 billion in fraud last year worldwide. The total since 2021, it says, comes to $24 billion.
- Buy now, pay later platform Sezzle Inc. has launched Money IQ, integrated in the Sezzle app and aimed at educating users on a series of financial topics. Users can earn “experience points” as they complete Money IQ modules, with the points redeemable for Sezzle Spend, the company’s rewards program.
- A European payments app called flykk has launched a Diner’s Club International debit card in some of its markets. The app comes from ISX Financial EU PLC, a developer of banking technology.
- PayPal’s Hyperwallet, a global payouts platform, has joined the Thunes Direct Global Network, allowing Hyperwallet users to send real-time payments to more than 450 million mobile wallets and bank accounts in Southeast Asia.
- Some 34% of U.S. merchants are adding surcharges on credit card transactions, according to J.D. Power’s “2025 U.S. Merchant Services Satisfaction Study.” The results are based on responses from 3,841 small businesses that use services from merchant-service providers. The survey found Shopify ranks first in satisfaction among merchants, followed by Chase Payment Solutions, second, and PayPal, third.
- The U.K. parking app JustPark said it is launching in America with service at the University of Hawaii, with parking payment included in the app’s capabilities. JustPark merged with the U.S. parking-app developer ParkHub last year.
- Grocery-delivery service Instacart said it will work with the point-of-sale providers Dumac Business Systems and Truno Retail Technology Solutions to offer Caper Carts, Instacart’s in-store shopping carts equipped with artificial intelligence for item scanning and other functions.
- Wisetack, which embeds consumer-financing choices in service providers’ offerings, has added U.S. Bank as a new lending partner.
