MagTek Inc. released its DynaFlex platform. Announced Tuesday, the platform can serve as a countertop or mobile device, be mounted to a tablet, or affixed to a standalone kiosk.
Designed to work with multiple configurations, DynaFlex is compatible with Windows and Android devices. It can accept payment via magstripe, EMV contact and contactless, and near-field communication-enabled mobile wallets.
The device has multiple connectivity options, including USB-C, WiFi, Bluetooth, and Ethernet
A touchscreen version, the DynaFlex Pro, enables custom messaging, signature capture, and, with a future firmware update, on-screen data input for manual entry of card data, tip adjustments, email addresses, mobile numbers for sending digital receipts, and related personal information.
MagTek says the device is meant to simplify payment acceptance for merchants. “We saw the need to design a small-footprint, multifunction, and secure payment terminal with the consumers and merchants in mind,” says Andy Deignan, MagTek vice president of global marketing and strategy. “Our goals were simplicity for the user experience, flexibility for the ISVs and developers, and affordability for the merchants. The contactless antenna is front and center with chip card and magstripe reading positioned right above so the consumer does not have to hunt for where to tap, insert, or swipe.”
DynaFlex works with MagTek’s Magensa gateway and tokenization service, and is processor-agnostic.
