- Mastercard Inc. said it is expanding its Engage partner network to include open-banking firms. The first companies to join include Dwolla, FinTech Automation, i2c, Link Financial Technology, LoanPro, Nova Credit, Provenir, Synctera, Tern, and Usio Inc.
- Buy now, pay later processor Afterpay will offer installment payments for customers of beauty retailer Sephora. Afterpay, a unit of Block Inc., began offering its BNPL option in stores in May at Square merchants.
- Transact Campus, a payments provider for colleges, announced it has acquired Canada-based Hangry, a specialist in mobile ordering for universities. Terms were not announced.

- Chargebacks911 released its 2022 Chargeback Field report that found an average increase of 28% in friendly fraud among merchants.
- Forage, whose app allows grocery stores to accept food stamps online, said its app is now available on Shopify.
- American Express Co. launched a refreshed Blue Cash Everyday Card with a new design and offering 3% cash back on online retail purchases in the United States, up to $18,000 in purchases per year, with 1% cash back on all other purchases.
- Mastercard Inc. announced Chargeworks, a social-impact program to help Canadian not-for-profit organizations.
- The card-issuing fintech Marqeta Inc. appointed Simon Khalaf chief product officer. Khalaf comes to the company from Twilio, a provider of tools for phone calls, text messages, and other means of communication.
- Risk mitigation provider Featurespace named Carolyn Homberger president of the Americas. Homberger had been at ACI Worldwide Inc., most recently as chief risk and administration officer.
