• Processor First Data Corp. and terminal maker Ingenico Group announced a new solution supporting EMV tip adjust and the common application identifier for debit and running on Ingenico smart terminals. First Data has certified the solution on its Omaha platform.
• The Merchant Advisory Group launched KnowYourPayments.com, a Web site intended to explain new payment methods to consumers. More than 100 U.S. retailers accounting for more than 430,000 locations belong to the MAG.
• Samsung Pay, the mobile payment service from Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., launched in Puerto Rico.
• TouchBistro, vendor of restaurant point-of-sale technology for the iPad, said its solution has integrated with the popular QuickBooks accounting software.
• Payments provider Apriva has integrated its AprivaPay Plus mobile-payments application with desktop and portable point-of-sale printers from Star Micronics.
• CoreCard Software, which provides card management systems and processing services, said its platform is now EMV-ready, having completed the MasterCard Inc. certification process.
• Online event-ticket seller TicketNetwork.com has added PayPal as a payment option.
• The NFC Forum, a standards body for near-field communication technology, has opened membership to startup technology companies.
• Payments company Escrow.com Inc. said 1 million users have registered to use its service. The company, which Freelancer Ltd. purchased in 2015, also said it moved its headquarters to San Francisco.
• Cubic Corp., a ticketing company specializing in contactless transit, signed a licensing agreement with Transport for London that enables Cubic to use London’s contactless ticketing technology. Cubic and TfL introduced the Oyster card in 2003.
