  • Prepaid card platform Blackhawk Network said it is working with Visa Inc. to convert its Visa-branded cards from plastic to paper-based materials.
  • Payments provider Central Payments released PayCP, its payout platform that initially includes a virtual Discover prepaid card, a physical Discover prepaid card, push to debit cards via Mastercard Send, and ACH bank transfers as options.

  • Discover Financial Services appointed former bank regulator Kathy Lonowski to the boards of Discover Financial Services and Discover Bank. The move follows the departure last month of long-time Discover CEO Roger Hochschild in the wake of merchant-overcharge and banking compliance issues.
  • Payments-technology provider Opus Consulting Solutions announced it is changing its name to Opus Technologies.
