- Hospitality-technology provider Bite Ninja said it has acquired Zenu, a provider of ordering and payment technology for restaurants. Terms were not announced.
- BlueOne Card Inc. said it is launching its BlueOne Card, a prepaid Mastercard issued by Axiom Bank N.A. The card offers a virtual checking account with an account and routing number without the requirement of a Social Security Number. Previously, the product had been available only online or through the BlueOne Card app.
- A startup called Launch Cart has emerged to provide an on-demand, software-as-a-service e-commerce platform for small businesses.
- A study from payments-technology provider i2c Inc. indicates cards backed by cryptocurrency show 7% higher dollar volumes for cross-border transactions than do traditional cards, with cross-border transaction rates double those of traditional cards. The company processes for more than 5 million crypto-backed cards.
- Buy now, pay later provider Splitit said a survey of 2,482 U.S. consumers found that 60% would prefer to use a BNPL option with an existing credit card rather than open a new line of credit.
