Sylogist Ltd., a global provider of software-as-a-service to more than 2,000 public-sector customers across the government, nonprofit, and education sectors, has selected Nuvei Corp. as its payments processor.
Nuvei will provide Sylogist with payments functionality including support for mobile wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. In addition, Nuvei will streamline Sylogist’s customer-onboarding process. As a result, according to Nuvei, Sylogist will be able to onboard new customers in about 10 minutes compared to one-and-a-half business days. The new onboarding process enables Sylogist’s clients to accept donations and payments in near-real time, Nuvei says.
The deal with Sylogist is the fruit of Nuvei’s $1.3-billion acquisition in February of Paya Holdings Inc. Sylogist, a Paya client, leveraged that company’s managed payment- facilitation technology and white-label payment capabilities.
“We had previously worked with various payments providers resulting in a complex and costly environment, so we were aware that we needed to upgrade and simplify our offering,” Rusty Butler, vice president of development for Sylogist, says in a statement. “We pride ourselves on providing our customers with best-in-class services for their sector through our platform, including payments.”
Montreal-based Nuvei has been expanding its presence globally of late. In addition to the Paya acquisition, which strengthened Nuvei’s position in the United States, the processor in March announced plans to enter Australia. The move down under was Nuvei’s third entry into the Asia-Pacific region, as the company began processing in Singapore and Hong Kong in 2022.
