- Payments-technology provider Par Technology Corp. posted fourth-quarter 2023 revenue of $107.7 million, a 10.2% increase from $97.2 million in the corresponding 2022 quarter. It had a quarterly loss of $18.6 million, up from a loss of $13.5 million the year prior. For all of 2023, Par had $415.8 million in revenue, a 16.9% increase from $355.8 million in 2022. It had a loss of $69.8 million in 2023 compared with a loss of $69.3 million in 2022.
- Buy now, pay later specialist Sezzle Inc. reported fourth-quarter 2023 merchant volume of $601.9 million, up 33% and a new quarterly record. Sales for the full year totaled $1.8 billion, up 4.6% from 2022. Revenue for the quarter was $48.9 million, up 28%, and was $159.4 million for the year, a 27% jump. The company swung to a profit of $7.1 million last year from a $38-million loss in 2022. Sezzle listed on the Nasdaq in August.
- Point-of-sale technology provider MagTek Inc. said it, along with Genesys Technologies, an unattended payments specialist for the self-service cleaning industry, launched CryptoTap Plus, a wireless payment technology for car washes and laundromats.
- Finix Payments Inc. announced its product suite is now available in Canada, marking the company’s first international launch.
- Banking platform Backbase said it will provide clients access to Alacriti’s payments hub, which includes instant payments services such as FedNow and RTP, using the Alacriti Orbipay Payments Hub.
- CRB Group Inc., the parent company of Cross River Bank and an advisor to fintechs on payments and other strategies, has launched an investment banking plan as part of CRB Securities LLC.
- Giift, a loyalty-technology provider, has agreed to work with prepaid card marketplace PrePay Nation to offer gift cards, mobile top-ups, and digital tokens.
- GoDaddy Inc., a Web registrar and payments platform, launched GoDaddy Airo, a service that leverages artificial intelligence to help businesses set up and operate an online store.
