PayNearMe Adds Walmart as Bill Pay Locations and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 6/8/21

  • PayNearMe, which enables cash payments as well as card, ACH, Apple Pay, and Google Pay payments, said its customers will be able to complete bill payment transactions at participating Walmart Inc. locations beginning in August. The deal is through a partnership with Green Dot Corp.
  • Member Driven Technologies, a credit union service organization, said it is offering clients real-time payments via the Zelle network and The Clearing House Payments Co.’s RTP network. The service is supported by JHA PayCenter from Jack Henry & Associates Inc. MDT’s clients serve some 2 million members.
  • Payments provider Paya Inc. said its platform has been certified for an update to enterprise resource planning software from Acumatica. The platform’s features include e-invoicing as well as card, check, and automated clearing house payments acceptance.
  • Payments platform dLocal Ltd. announced it has closed its initial public offering. Shares began trading June 3 on the Nasdaq.
  • Galileo Financial Technologies LLC named Derek White chief executive, succeeding founder Clay Wilkes, who will remain vice chairman and a member of the board of directors of parent company SoFi Technologies Inc. White most recently was an executive with Google Cloud and earlier served in executive roles at U.S. Bank and BBVA.
  • Data-protection provider TokenEx became a Nacha Preferred Partner for ACH data protection, Nacha announced.
  • Wells Fargo & Co. unveiled plans for a new Visa credit card portfolio to signal what it says will be “an expanded role for credit cards in the bank’s transformation.” Wells will launch the first card, featuring a cash-back offering, in July, with a low-rate card to follow later this year.
  • Liberty Bank has opted for a digital-payments platform from Payrailz LLC.
  • Vijayaraghava (Vijay) Reddy joined processor Computer Services Inc. as chief technology officer. Reddy most recently was an executive with Equifax.
  • Payments provider Payscout LLC said Michael Lamm, cofounder and managing partner of Corporate Advisory Solutions, joined its advisory board.
