- Point-of-sale system maker TouchBistro released its 2023 “State of Restaurants” report that found 76% of restaurant operators changed their POS systems in the past year and 66% used a system with an integrated payment processing service. The study, now in its fifth year, was based on research from 600 full service restaurant owners across the United States.
- Golfpay, an operations platform for golf courses, will work with payments provider Get Beyond to process payments for pro shops.
- Phixius, the payment-data network under Nacha’s auspices, has processed more than 2 million transactions in 2022, the automated clearing house rules maker said. To date, more than 1,700 financial institutions and 10,000 businesses are on the Phixius network.
- A survey of more than 1,000 consumers after the well-publicized collapse of the FTX cryptocurrency exchange indicated almost half said their interest in purchasing crypto hasn’t changed. The survey results, by crypto platform Bakkt Holdings Inc., comes as federal authorities have arrested FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried on charges of fraud, conspiracy, and money laundering.
- PayProp, a residential-rent payment platform, is expanding its operations to Illinois, following its moves into Florida, Texas, and Georgia. The company, which started out in South Africa in 2004, says its PropTech platform processes almost $2 billion in rent payments annually.
- The city of Highland Park, Ill., is adding a mobile-payment option for parking through the Passport platform. Passport says its app is now in operation in more than 800 cities in North America.
