PrePass Marks Integration and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 9/30/24

  • PrePass, a platform for highway toll payments, said its services can be accessed via an integration with the Motive Marketplace, a platform featuring artificial-intelligence capabilities.
  • A survey of 2,600 consumers in the U.S. market and in seven other countries revealed 61% have cut back on using digital payments or otherwise changed their behavior out of concerns about online scams. The canvass was conducted in June by Opinium on behalf of the insurance company Chubb.
  • Private equity firm Ridgeview Partners, along with The Baupost Group, an investment management firm, said it made an investment in PayRange, an unattended payments specialist. Ridgeview Partners did not disclose the amount, but called it “significant.”
  • Altudo, a digital marketing and e-commerce services provider, said it is a Shopify Plus certified partner.
  • Halfpricesoft.com said it has launched a multi-user version of its ezCheckPrinting check writer that can allow users to print checks on blank check stock.
  • The Washington, D.C. subway system is aiming to have tap-to-pay capability for credit cards and Apple Pay in place by the start of the city’s World Pride event, which is scheduled for May 23 to June 8.
  • U.S.-based TransPerfect, a provider of software for artificial intelligence, said it has acquired India-based Paybooks Technologies, a payroll provider. Terms were not announced.
  • ATM manufacturer Hyosung Americas named Nancy Gail Daniels chief operating officer. Daniels most recently was chief revenue officer at Hyosung Americas.
