Priority’s Volume up 4.5% and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 8/8/24

  • Priority Technology Holdings Inc., a payments provider, reported $15.8 billion in June-quarter bankcard processing volume, up 4.5% year-over-year. For the first half of the year, volume came to $30.6 billion, up less than 1%. Revenue for the company totaled $219.9 million for the quarter, up 21%. For the first half, revenue was to $425.6 million, a 16% increase.
  • Processor Nuvei Corp. said it has been chosen to support Scanco Software LLC’s Invoice2Payment technology, which includes online payment processing and analytics for mobile warehouses.
  • Cryptocurrency exchange BingX, which claims 10 million users globally, has integrated with Apple Pay and Google Pay to enable its users to buy crypto with up to 30 fiat currencies through the two digital wallets.
  • In related news, payments platform Checkout.com said it is the first such provider to integrate Google Pay’s authentication capabilities to support merchant processing. The integration has quickened checkout time at one merchant by 30%, up by five percentage points, the company says.
  • Hospitality point-of-sale system specialist PAR Technology Corp. reported $78.2 million in second quarter 2024 revenue, a 12.5% increase from $69.5 million in the year-ago quarter. It posted a $54.2 million profit against a $19.7 million loss year-over-year.
  • Card-issuing fintech Marqeta Inc. reported June-quarter processing volume of $70.6 billion, up 32% over the same period last year. Net revenue totaled $125.3 million, down 46% owing to the impact of pricing required by a contract renewal with Block Inc.’s Cash App, the company said. The second quarter is the last period in which the new contract, which took effect in July last year, will affect the company’s comparisons to 2023, Marqeta said.
  • Payment-service provider Helcim launched Helcim Automated Invoice Payments for QuickBooks Online, which it says supports payment acceptance and real-time invoice synchronization for small businesses, accountants, and bookkeepers.
  • RealPage Inc., a real estate software provider, announced Loft, a leasing, moving, payments, and rewards platform for property management companies. Tenants have multiple payment options including Flex, RealPage’s new split payment option. Instead of paying rent in full each month, users can split the rent payment for the month on a schedule.
  • Ripple Labs Inc., a digital-currency-based platform, announced a federal judge has ordered the company to pay $125 million in penalties for past sales of unregistered XRP following a suit brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The judgment falls far short of the $2 billion in fines and penalties sought by the SEC in the 4-year-old case.
  • ATM services provider NCR Atleos said Credit Union of America joined the Atleos Allpoint Network, which has more than 55,000 ATMs.
