  • Quickcharge, a division of Transact Campus Inc., completed an integration of Amazon.com Inc.’s Just Walk Technology at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa that enables employees to use their badges to pay for food and beverages.
  • Payments processor Elavon said it is expanding a partnership in Europe with commerce-technology platform FreedomPay to include large retail and hospitality merchants.
  • The Merchants Payments Coalition released a report that claims credit and debit card processing fees cost the average U.S. household more than $1,100 in 2023. It argues the Credit Card Competition Act could help alleviate some of this cost.
  • American Express Co. and Delta Air Lines released an updated version of the Boeing 747 Delta Sky Miles Reserve Card design that incorporates material from two retired Delta 747 planes.
  • GoDaddy Inc. released its GoDaddy Smart Terminal Flex point-of-sale terminal.
  • Payments platform WEX Inc. said it has agreed to be the preferred virtual card provider for longtime client Booking.com. WEX, formerly known as Wright Express Corp., has handled payments for the travel site since 2013.
  • Accounting software provider FreshBooks announced FreshBooks Payments, a service that uses Stripe Connect to enable faster onboarding, payments tracking, and helping with cash flow.
  • Credit card platform Bread Inc. reported $991 million in revenue for the first quarter, down 23% year-over-year, due in part to the February 2023 sale of a BJ’s Wholesale Club card portfolio. Net income fell 70% to $135 million.
  • The Western Union Co. reported first-quarter revenue of $1.04 billion, a 1% increase from $1.03 billion in the year-ago quarter. Its net income of $142.7 million was a 6% decrease from a $151.8 million profit in the 2023 first quarter.
  • Melio Payments Inc. appointed Boaz BenDavid chief financial officer, the 6-year-old company’s first. BenDavid comes to the company from the payments platform Nayax.
