Raptor Acquires PayK12 and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 7/2/24

  • Raptor Technologies, a provider of software to schools, announced it has acquired PayK12, a platform for online payments and event ticketing for schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. Terms were not announced.
  • Payments-technology provider SpotOn said it has joined the U.S. Foods Check Business Tools program, which provides technology and services to restaurants and other foodservice firms.
  • Conduent Transportation, a unit of U.S.-based Conduent Inc., launched a contactless open payment system for the Venice, Italy, transit network managed by the Azienda Veneziana della Mobilità agency. The deployment consists of more than 2,200 validators that enable fare payment on a fleet of 149 vessels.
  • The U.S. card-issuing platform Marqeta Inc. announced it has signed Swiss4, a 4-year-old, Switzerland-based financial-services provider.
  • Fingerprint Cards AB and IN Groupe have launched what they say is a secure-component solution for contactless payment cards protected by biometrics. The move, the companies say, will allow global card manufacturers to “scale up production of next-generation payment cards.”
  • U.S-based Circle Internet Financial announced it is the first global stablecoin issuer to become compliant with the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulations set by the European Union. Of the 10 largest stablecoins by market capitalization, Circle’s USDC is the only one that is MiCA-compliant, Circle says.
