- AppBrilliance said it is extending real-time payments to funding of closed-loop digital wallets via a recent rule change by The Clearing House Payments Co. The move will allow providers such as Starbucks, Dunkin’, and Chick-fil-A to use real-time rails for their proprietary wallets, the company says.
- ZeroTier, which provides connectivity between devices for payments and other services, said it has received $13.5 million in Series A funding in a round led by Battery Ventures.
- India accounts for a 48.5% share of all global real-time payments, according to a report from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
- In related news, the RBI on Friday said it had fined Visa Inc. for using an “unauthorized payment transfer method” in that country, according to a report by Reuters. The fine totaled 24.1 million rupees, or almost $288,000.
