Samsung Pulls All Note 7 Devices and other Digital Transactions News briefs

Payments provider TransFirst, a unit of Total System Services Inc. (TSYS), and Raintree Systems, which provides specialized practice-management software, formed a partnership that sees TransFirst as the integrated payments provider in Raintree’s software.

Following its decision earlier this week to halt production, sale, and exchange of its troubled Galaxy Note7 smart phone, Samsung Electronics America Inc. expanded its recall program to include all original and replacement Note7 devices sold or exchanged in the U.S. before or after the original recall announced Sept. 15. Not7 owners can exchange their phone for another Samsung smart phone or get a refund. The Note7, which is one of nine Samsung smart-phone models capable of running the company’s Samsung Pay mobile wallet, has been plagued by reports that a flawed battery cell in some of the devices has caught fire when recharged.

Payments-software supplier ACI Worldwide Inc. announced it has provided the back-end technology allowing TransferWise to link to the U.K.’s Faster Payments scheme. Founded in 2011, TransferWise operates an international money-transfer platform.

American Express Co. and Intuit Inc. said QuickBooks Online small-business users who also hold AmEx Open Business cards will have access to AmEx Working Capital Terms for short-term, low-cost financing to pay their vendors.

Slice, which offers a loyalty platform for independent pizzerias, launched a mobile ordering and payment app.

Integrated payments provider  Datacap Systems Inc. said it now offers a multiprocessor e-commerce platform that its point-of-sale distribution partners can in turn offer to merchants.

Financial processor Jack Henry & Associates Inc.’s JHA Payment Solutions unit introduced JHA EPS SmartPay Biller Direct, a service that enables financial institutions’ business customers to offer biller-direct presentment and payment services to consumers.

Processor JetPay Corp. named Gene M. Valentino chief strategy officer for its payment-processing operations. Valentino had been founder and chief executive of CollectorSolutions Inc., a payments company specializing in government, utility, and non-profit. JetPay purchased the company in June.
