Shift4 Grows Its Relationship With the Orlando Magic; Cheq Partners With Loud And Live

Shift4 Payments Inc. continues to build out its footprint in sports and entertainment venues through an expanded deal with the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association. Under the terms of the deal, announced early Wednesday, Shift4 will process transactions at all concession stands within the Amway Center, home of the Magic, including in-stadium kiosk and mobile orders. Previously, Shift4 processed transactions through the team’s mobile app and in its retail stores.

In addition, Shift4 will begin processing ticket purchases for Magic games in 2024 as part of its integration with ticket-sales agent and distributor Ticketmaster Entertainment LLC. In August, Shift4 announced it would process payments for all sports teams using Ticketmaster.

The integration with Ticketmaster gives Shift4 access to the three leading sports-ticketing platforms, the other two being SeatGeek, a mobile platform for sports concerts and entertainment tickets, and Paciolan, a provider of ticketing, fundraising, marketing, analytics, and mobile solutions.  

In related news, Loud and Live, a live events, media, marketing, and entertainment company, has partnered with Cheq Inc. as its payment processor. The two companies kicked off their partnership earlier this month at the Country Bay Music Festival in Miami, where Loud and Live leveraged Cheq’s payments platform to process transactions for food, beverage, and merchandise purchases.

Loud And Live owns and operates some of the largest cultural events and content platforms in South Florida, including TYR Wodapalooza, Coconut Grove Arts Festival, House of Horror Haunted Carnival, SoFlo Boat Show, Christmas Wonderland, and Bayfront New Year’s Eve.

“Providing our event attendees with a fast and effortless payment experience was a top priority when evaluating potential payment partners,” Loud and Live chief executive Nelson Albareda says in a statement. “Cheq’s technology and shared commitment to providing a world-class fan experience made this an easy decision.”
