Shift4 Marks Another Europe Deal and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 6/21/24

  • U.S.-based Shift4 Payments Inc. has deepened its penetration of the European market through an agreement to partner with Stockholm-based digital-payments platform OneMoneyWay to offer small merchants in the United Kingdom and Europe a combined business and payments platform. Shift4 recently took a majority stake in Germany’s Vectron Systems, a point-of-sale technology company.
  • Strider, a booking platform for horseback riding in the U.S. market, said it is working with PayPal to process payments at United States Pony Club events. There are said to be more than 475 such clubs throughout the country.
  • Processor Nuvei Corp. said the Superior Court of Quebec has approved the company’s plan to go private through an acquisition by Neon Maple Purchaser Inc., a unit controlled by Advent International L.P. The approval follows the okay given by Nuvei shareholders June 18.
  • Takis Georgakopoulos will join Fiserv Inc. as an executive vice president and senior advisor, effective Sept. 3. Georgakopoulos left JPMorgan Chase June 6 after 17 years at the bank, most recently as head of payments.
  • Fintech Pagaya Technologies Inc. joined the Mastercard Engage program that connects fintech enablers to banks, merchants, and other fintech to drive product innovation.
